Translational Technologies currently comprises two higher education professionals focused on utilizing technology effectively to provide outstanding services.
Doyle Friskney (Associate Vice President & Chief Technology Officer) is responsible for establishing the strategic direction of information technology at the University of Kentucky. Active in national, regional and state technology programs, he has extensive experience in leadership positions associated with IT. He has successfully coordinated the deployment of computing systems, voice systems, and networks. With extensive experience in deploying collaborative systems to compliment higher education and healthcare, he recently created a new customer support infrastructure for faculty and students. His current interests embrace translational technologies, including the possibilities of cloud computing for universities.
Stacey Greenwell is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research at the University of Kentucky Libraries. From its opening in 2007 to August 2010, she served as director of the the Hub, the university's information commons which combines a technology help desk and computer lab with a traditional library reference desk. Prior to leading the information commons, she served as a librarian in the IT division of the University of Kentucky Libraries, 2001-2006. She earned two degrees from the University of Kentucky: a B.A. in English and a Master's in Library and Information Science and is currently working on an Ed.D. in Instructional Systems Design. Active in the Special Libraries Association, she has held multiple leadership roles throughout the organization.
